PREPARING FOR YOUR SAFARI

Expectations of the exotic and mystique abound when anticipating travel to places far from our homes Africa , as a destination is no exception. In national parks, millions of wildlife roam freely; in cities modern architecture together with bustling open markets of a diverse people are for you to sample; and in the villages you'll witness ancient knowledge amidst a 20 th century backdrop.

Here, rules may be different, customs and health formalities can often be tedious and may very well test your patience. Please, relax, and keep an open mind. You are transcending vast geographical, cultural and economic boundaries. Every effort is made to show you what Africa has to offer in as much comfort as possible. But one thing is for sure, African people are by nature welcoming, courteous and hospitable. You'll find them most accommodating, as long as you approach them with the same respect and dignity that you expect. Security
Be wise; avoid carrying large sums of money. Deposit your passport, excess money, jewels and other valuables at the hotel's receptions for safe custody. Do not walk alone or in isolated alleys. When in doubt, please seek advice from the hotel manager of your tour representative.

Luggage
Maintain the luggage to the minimum while on safari. One lightweight bag and a small handbag per person. Excess luggage can be stored at the city hotel. Use soft bags where possible.

Photographic Equipment
It is always advisable to carry a good supply of films. A 200-300 mm lens, a waterproof dust cover and spare batteries are recommended. Binoculars are invaluable for your game viewing.

Health
Vaccination and Prophylactics against Malaria, Tetanus, Typhoid, Meningitis, Diphtheria and Hepatitis A & B are recommended. Yellow Fever or Cholera certificate is only required from travelers coming from an infected area. Please check with your doctor or travel clinic for the latest information regarding precautionary measure.

Shopping Hours
09:00 to 17:00 Hours from Monday to Saturday. Most shops are closed on Sunday.

FACILITIES: while luxury and regular accommodations are available at various locations, you will be visiting lodges and camps where many of the usual amenities and services are limited, but meet your basic needs. In national parks, we use permanent tented lodges, mobile tents for camping and safari lodges. We choose our accommodations to show you Africa in an African setting.

ROADS in most of Africa are of sand and gravel. Dust in large quantities is a norm. And when it rains, the roads and tracks become muddy and sometimes small rivers. This is the main reason we favor four-wheel drive vehicles.

EAST AFRICA undoubtedly offers the best wildlife experience anywhere. The vast protected national parks are the pride of East African nations.
